Module dialogue

Source
Expand description

Dialogue: a scene of the .dlg format played one text box at a time (player, with the game’s own lines and tokens through DialogueHooks) and the text box it is read in (text_box: its pages, typing and look). A game’s dialogue screen puts them together with its portraits and whatever it draws behind the talk.

Modules§

player
Playing a dialogue Scene one text box at a time. DialoguePlayer is the state machine only (who stands where, what is said, which reply choice is open, which music the script asked for, and what the game’s own lines have set: its DialogueHooks); a dialogue screen draws its View and asks for the music.
text_box
A dialogue’s text box: its text word-wrapped into pages, typed out at the player’s text speed and faster while the key that goes on is held (TextBox); what it shows (TextView: the page as revealed, the replies of a choice, the question before skipping a scene, the marker that waits for a key); and its glyph look (glyph::paint).
